There's some Lori-logic for ya!
My mom used to always laugh at Lori-logic. I always, according to her, could make anything make sense even if it was completely nonsensical. If I talk in circles long enough, you'll understand me. :) By the time I was about 16 or so, she'd just say, "I can't keep up with Lori-logic, fine, just go do..." whatever-the-thing-of-the-day was.
Anywho. So the scale seems to be crawling now. I have noticed, thanks to my beloved GoBe that my calories burns for the past three days have been less than the entire month of May. But I also noticed that when I lose weight, if it's a day or two here or there, that the days I lose on, I have lower calorie burns on. The days I seemingly maintain, my calorie counts are either just fine or super-high. I've set my calorie burn goal, per day, at 2600 calories. On the days that I achieve 2600 - I don't lose. On the days that I can barely pull off 2400 calories...I do lose. I'll have three or four days around 2400 and I'll lose each of those three or four days...then my burn will jump back up to 2600...and I stop losing. I've also noticed that during the week, I struggle to burn 2600...but on weekends, I typically am burning in the 3000 range.
I hate being at a desk all day.
But I love getting a paycheck!
Any plans for the weekend?
We are...taking donations to Goodwill; pressure washing the fence and staining it; getting Sisterhood clothes in the mail; reorganizing the gym and getting a larger tv mounted; hopefully relaxing by the pool sometime, too!
Speaking of Sisterhood clothes, please have one last look at these three blogs (part 1, part 2, part 3) and let me know if you want anything. If it isn't spoken for, it's going to Goodwill tomorrow. If it doesn't fit yet, that's fine - you are more than welcome to take it for your own and save it for when it will. Let me know - comment on the particular blog, I'll see it, and send me an email at ldswims0808@gmail.com with your address. And for those that have already spoken for things as well as anyone else who might - no charge for shipping. I'm paying it forward...
That's about all I know.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Like Lori-Logic! Maybe we should all just donate our scales, in addition to our clothes. That would get rid of one obsession. :) Sounds like you have a busy weekend! I am chaperoning an 7th grade end of school year party with a sleepover. Say a prayer. :) What was I thinking???
ReplyDeleteI love your Lori-logic :)
ReplyDeleteI have my own brand of logic as well! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeletesoooo funny about lori-logic.....one of my very good friends (named lori) has been using the term lori-logic since we met 15 years ago! lol
ReplyDeleteNice loss. :)
ReplyDeleteYour calorie-burning and weight are interesting!! Have you considered your metabolism? Maybe you don't eat enough to keep your metabolism firing on the days you burn more calories. If 2400 works, stick to that!! More isn't always better.
That's awesome you're passing on clothes to people. :)
Loving the Lori-logic. I also love that you are paying it forward. I was so having a blah day yesterday, but after reading you guy's blogs and doing absolutely no work. I am inspired again.
ReplyDeleteI'm at a desk all day too and I hate it, but like you I like getting a paycheck. It is what it is. Happy Friday!!
That's it - now I'm officially mad. Okay - not really. But it's fun to pretend. Smooches.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I was reading CinciMom11's comment and thought about an article I once read. Check it out here:

Sounds like things are going well since you did loss and not gain, but I understand the frusteration. It is great to actually see the numbers on your GoBe isn't it!?! I helps see potential slowdown in time to start doing something about it.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple things to think about that might help (or trigger a better thought on your side). 1) On days where you are getting the 2600 calories are you still recovering during the weigh in? Maybe your body is still holding on to that extra water to help your muscles recover and that is causing the lack of movement. 2) What is your deficts on the days you get 2400 calories and 2600 calories? If you still consume the same number of calories maybe on the 2600 days the defict is too big and your body goes into a retention phase??? 3) I find that it takes a while for losses to show up after a big day. I don't know why and it doesn't always happen, but more times than not their is a delay. At least I assumed it was a delay. I will have to take another look myself.
Have a great weekend!!!
You are doing really GREAT!!!!! Congratulations on your loss!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen a stall in weight loss just because I burn more calories... I always try to focus on the deficit.
However, my scale does not respond right away and it takes a day or two to kick in.
I am still figuring out which caloric deficit works best for me.
