BYOC

1. If you could have lunch with a famous person who would it be and what would you order? (Thanks Jenny for this one)

Denzel Washington.  I would order...oh dangit.  Right now while I can't eat anything I would say I would order one of everything at whatever joint we went to.  Let's put it this way.  I hate Wendy's and we drove by one today and I though, oh what I wouldn't do for.....

YUCK!

2. Where’s the furthest place you’ve traveled to?

I've done a lot of traveling.  I've been on all continents except Antarctica - for now.  I know farthest "north" for me is Iceland or Alaska.  Farthest "south" for me is Australia and New Zealand.  Highest elevation is probably in Cali, for me - although not sure, I used to do a lot of hiking.  Lowest below sealevel - with the sky showing, Death Valley at 200 some odd feet below sea level; and with no sky showing, in a salt dome in West Texas, over 3000 feet into the Earth.  I've also been swimming in 20,000 feet of water and deepest dive for me is over 150 feet.

Back to the furthest thing.  I'd count India, the Persian Gulf, China, Egypt, Germany, Japan as pretty far, too.  But in most cases I got there via ship so I can't tell you how long the trip would have taken via air.  I circumnavigated the globe back in 2005 aboard a ship leaving from NYC and returning to NYC 4.5 months later.

I've done a lot of traveling.

I've also been out in the middle of the Pacific just "doing figure 8's" with land to the east and west equidistant apart - you can't get much further from land than that.
3. If you could describe yourself in 4 words – what would they be?

Devoted, Creative, Clever, Free-spirit

4. What’s one interesting thing about you we don’t know?

I love being a Geophysicist and having/getting to use my brain but I'd rather be a pool cleaner.  I think next step after things settle down might be to open my own pool cleaning company and get myself back outdoors and away from a friggin desk!

5. Finally – whose blog spoke to you, stuck with you, stayed in your mind, resonated with you – this week – and why?

Jennifer and her soul-searching.  I can relate on a very personal level to what she is working through right now so to be able to watch her take her story and put it on a shelf is humbling to be a part of.  She is a beautiful, eloquent, compassionate lady who I feel lucky to be observing through blogger.

And Band_Groupie.  Just in general.  I find great relief, and I'm sure she does, too, in that she seemed to be getting back to normal this week and beating her pain back in droves.  I like BG being on her feet.  Now her blog from today saying what her plans are - I'm just so proud of her as I can't think of anyone better to write a book than BG.

Both of these ladies are people I wish I knew in reality!  Luckily, I can at least have a virtual connection.  :)
